CTL-1
A MIDI controller for the M-VAVE FM-1
The FM-1's keys, knobs and buttons as a MIDI controller: notes in any scale with its chords under the black keys, four banks of knobs, an arpeggiator and a Euclidean drum sequencer, over USB. And General MIDI sounds of its own, so it plays with nothing connected.
What it does
- Keys. 27 keys, ±3 octaves. With a scale (nine of them, any root) the white keys play its notes and the black keys its chords. Sustain on ENV, tap it twice to lock; the mod wheel on LFO.
- Knobs. Four controllers in four banks, 16 in all, each with its own number; MASTER can send one too.
- Arpeggiator. Up, down, up-down, random or as played, 1/4 to 1/32, up to three octaves, with latch.
- Sequencer. Four drum tracks of Euclidean rhythms, edited on the keys, on their own channel.
- Clock. Its own, sent as MIDI clock with start and stop, or following yours.
- Sounds. The 128 General MIDI sounds and the drum kit (Sonivox EAS), through the FM-1's speaker and headphones: PRESETS picks one.
USB MIDI out and in, and the TRS jack's MIDI in passed on to USB. Bluetooth MIDI comes in a later version.
